Sarah’s Travels

“When Sheri asked me to help kick-off the new Gallery of POLES around the WORLD and share, my Pole Walking journey in England, along with some photos – well, I couldn’t wait!”

I have used a pair of 2-piece purple Keenfit Walking Poles for the past 10 months and love them.  Then, just at the last minute before I was leaving to walk a sacred pilgrimage path in England for a month, I realized that my beloved purple poles were not going to fit in my bags, and that I was going to need to take a 3-piece blue pair that when fully collapsed, was at least 5″ shorter than the 2-piece poles and would fit into my bags.  I was really concerned about using a new and “not broken in” pair of poles, yet I knew that there was nothing I could do but go ahead and use them.  Of course, it’s not the poles that need breaking in.  I was concerned that the palm straps would be stiff and give my hands blisters given the many miles that I would be walking.

From the first mile of the over 100 miles I walked in Cornwall, I loved these poles.  I did not have any blisters or even any discomfort from the palm straps.  Also, I felt very supported as I walked steep coastal paths and narrow roads, crossed many stiles, sidestepped cow paddies, and maneuvered through many patches of brambles and stinging nettles!  I especially noticed the support when I was carrying my 20 pound backpack.  I also could feel the difference between walking with poles and without.  One day I walked a very steep coastal path with a friend and offered her the use of my poles as she was dealing with an aggravated hip issue.  During and even after our walk, she commented on how she couldn’t have done the walk without the poles!  I really missed the support from using the poles and could feel the difference in my knees with all of the steep inclines and declines on this particular section of the path.  My friend loved them so much that she bought the poles from me when I saw her again at the end of my journey.  So the first pair of Keenfit Poles are now in England!

Thanks Keenfit for making such good quality, solid but lightweight – and colorful – Walking Poles!  I love them and love sharing them too!
