- How can I use Walking Poles & walk my dog?
There are many Pole Walkers out there who happily & easily walk their dogs.
- Some tie the dog’s leash around their waist & simply walk with their Walking Poles.
- Some just hold the leash (sometimes leashes for 2-dogs) in their hands around the Pole handle & walk with their Walking Poles.
- Some people go out walking with their Walking Poles, their dog and a friend – the friend takes the Walking Poles & they take the dog one-way and then they swap on the way back you get the Poles & your friend gets the dog.
It only makes sense that you get your work-out while your dog gets theirs!

unnecessary stress on your lower back.

Absolutely – both the Keenfit trail & road feet are okay to use on any outdoor/indoor tracks or shopping malls…In order to avoid damaging any outdoor or indoor tracks, or shopping mall floors it is important that the Keenfit Walking Poles have either the trail & road foot on – so as to protect them from the Pole’s carbide-tips.

- Absolutely – Pole Walking stems from Cross Country Skiing – it’s just Cross Country Skiing without the snow!
- If there is snow and ice though– the Poles add stability to walking on slippery & uneven ground.
- By simply removing the rubber Pole feet & using the carbide-tips your walking poles act like ice-picks grabbing at the ice or snow.
- But it is still suggested that you wear spikes or coils for your boots to ensure your feet will have a good solid grip as well. (These spikes or coils slip over your footwear like a galosha – you can find them at most outdoor / adventure gear stores).
- Walking on ice or snow with good traction on both your feet & your arms makes for some fun & safe winter walking…Just be sure & buddle-up warm.
- Can two pair of Poles fit in one Pole Tote?
Yes – 2 pairs of Poles can fit in a Pole Tote – BUT it’s a tight fit.
As long as you put them in opposite each other (1-pair feet-down – the other pair handles-down). Remember though, when you go for a Walk you will only be able to carry 1 water bottle.

- Why is Pole Walking better than regular walking?
- Regular walking engages less than 50% of your muscle mass (basically you only use your lower body – you can swing your arms but you will only increase your cardio – not any more body muscles) – by adding walking poles you engage over 90% of your major muscles.
- By using more muscles you’ll burn between 22-48% more calories.
- By using more muscles you’ll increase your cardio a minimum of 20% -without going faster of working any harder than regular walking.
- In turn, your perceived effort is less than your actual effort – making it easier to do than regular working.
- It’s more efficient than regular walking – 30 minutes of pole walking = 50 minutes of regular walking – so you are getting both your weight-bearing and cardio workout at the same time.
- Using walking poles lessens the impact on your lower joints(back, hips, knees, ankles & feet) by 26% compared to regular walking.
- Using walking poles naturally aligns your posture while strengthening your core – in turn helping you to stand, sit and walk taller & breathe deeper.
- Why can’t I just use my ski-poles?
Not all Walking Poles or ski-poles have straps & handles that are designed to make pole walking comfortable, nor do they have the different Walking Pole feet options – as well you can’t be guaranteed they’ll be the correct height.
Keenfit Walking Poles have:
- Telescopic adjustable shafts – made of light-weight aluminum-alloy to allow for comfort, custom height adjustment.
- Adjustable palm straps – ergonomically designed, with special breathable nylon palm pads & velcro straps for a custom fit… worn comfortably on the palm of the hand to help relax your grip while you control & handle your walking poles.
- Moisture absorbent cork-mix handles – so your grip will be cooler in the summer & warmer in the winter.
- Road & trail feet – specially designed rubber feet – used for walking on harder, more compact surfaces like: roads, sidewalks, concrete & asphalt – & for walking on looser to medium compact trails – like: gravel roads, park paths or trails.
- Safety reflector tape (on both poles) – helping those early morning or late day walkers to be seen on the road.
- Why would I want to use adjustable Walking Poles versus one-piece poles?
An adjustable Walking Pole is your best guarantee for an accurate custom fit – as a lot of people can be the same height & yet have different torso and/or arm lengths. So using a one-piece Pole or a height-chart, may cause you to end up with poles that
are either too-short or too-long…Keenfit Walking Poles are fully adjustable two or three-piece Poles with a solid, one-piece feel!
- Why would Keenfit Walking Poles be better than other poles out there?
