Pole Walking helps provide the Adventure & Companionship I so enjoy
At 61, keeping fit is important – so I tried the 30 minute circuit and the gym with the guidance of a personal trainer. They both helped with body toning and some weight reduction, but they lacked the adventure and companionship I so enjoy.
Then I heard mentioned, from my personal trainer, that “Pole Walking” was an option I should consider to maintain my fitness. It allowed me to take my fitness outdoors without the risk of joint damage and it gives me new and exciting scenery based on where I walk. It allows me to comfortably visit with other walkers and it’s keeping me fit.
For the past 2 years, I have suffered with rotator cuff pain – this pain is now reduced by exercising the necessary muscles and not pushing myself like I have done in the past at the 30 minute circuit and gym. A plus, my husband, at 68, has just bought his first pair and we enjoy our active walks together!
