Multiple Sclerosis & Increased Mobility with Walking Poles
Sheri, I met you last year at an event.…I was lucky enough to be given a set of Walking Poles for Christmas from boyfriend; they were on my wish list. I’m still planning on attending a workshop.
Here’s my idea: I have Multiple Sclerosis, my primary symptom is chronic facial pain but I have friends that struggle with mobility and two of them are using the Keenfit Walking Poles, one on a full time basis. This is what I am suggesting, I would first approach a Occupational Therapist for her assessment and support.
The obvious benefit is the ease of adjusting the Pole for ergonomic benefit and then balance the stress on the body by using two Poles instead of one cane. My friend who is having to use the Walking Poles on a full time basis is thrilled.
The M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) Society may recommend this to it’s members as an option, put it in it’s newsletter. You may even get sales from members with M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) who have Mobility, but may have limited energy and could already be walking and may want to use the Walking Poles for walking because they can combine the upper body and increase the calories they are burning by 40%.
Kindest Regards,
